Martha Beard

Post by Rob »

I am confused about Martha Beard.Married to George Crumpton using her married name Martha Phillips.
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... ard-Family

On Ancestry someone has linked her to a Thomas Phillips as Martha Unknown but we have Thomas Phillips on BCC married to Martha Blakemore.

Can anyone find a marriage for Martha Beard for me please?

I don't think there is any cheap way :( Unless somebody can find a church record online.
There is a death which would fit just about, but it would mean Harriet Phillips would have to have been born in the right time frame

Deaths Mar 1873
Phillips Thomas 27 Sheffield 9c 286

Do you have anything else for her? Did she marry? That would confirm her father's name at least. Have you got her on the census apart from 1881?

Harriet Phillips was born around 1873-1874 she's also on the 1891 census.
I have a marriage for Harriet Phillips and Nephew Belcher 1894 and i'm waiting for a lookup to determine who her father was.

Harriet and Nephew Belcher are 52 in 1911 so I don't see how Harriet Belcher can be Harriet Phillips (who should be 38).

Could somebody look at the 1911 and 1901 entries please? The ages are a bit off in 1901 perhaps:

Harriet Monk
Wife
1877
Oldbury, Worcestershire

but the kids fit with 1911.

Thanks San.You're up early!!
I've requested a lookup for Harriet Phillips and John Monk and i couldn't find them on 1901 census.
I reckon this is the Harriet Phillips who belongs to Martha Beard.
I think Samuel Monk b.1908 lived in Eel Street when i was a kid and he later moved two doors away from my grandmother when they were all rehoused.
