A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Cornelius, known as "Naley", was the son of William Skidmore and Mary Taylor. He was born on 14 December 1803, probably at Springs Mire, Dudley, married first Susannah Smith b. 1805 on 5 March 1826 in Kingswinford and second Mrs Maria Jukes b. about 1817 Gornal, on 3 Aug 1851 at Sedgley. His father William bpt. 23 Jan 1757 Oldswinford married Mary Taylor b. 1757 Oldswinford on 17 April 1780 at Oldswinford. William's parents were John and Mary Skidmore who married in 1740/1. That John's father was probably John Skidmore bpt. 29 Apr 1704 Kingswinford, son of John Skidmore bpt 30 Mar 1681 Kinswinford who married a Penelope c. 1700, son of Francis Skidmore bpt. 2 April 1632 Kingswinford and Ann Glover bpt 19 Apr 1646 Kingswinford, married at Kingswinford 8 February 1675/6.

No, Snoopysue, I bought it direct from Linda Moffatt, it's a very impressive piece of scholarship, about 400 pages, published in 2004. This is the link:
As she says on her website: "The Skidmore family is not in any danger of extinction. In the United States there are almost 4000 heads of households named Skidmore (including the less common spellings of Scudamore, Scidmore and Sidmore) with listed telephone numbers" !
