Missing Marriage - Samuel Hall to Jane Becks!

Post by Fatman »

Following on from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=6807

I have now ordered their child, Fredericks birth certificate from 1868 and it states parents as Samuel Hall and Jane Hall formerly Becks

1) Is Becks a misspelling and it should be Betts as suggested in my previous thread?
2) If so, then the marriage was in 1872, but the birth was in 1868 so how could she be Jane Hall?
3) If it really is Becks, then where is the marriage? Ive checked the normal sources

I do have an address, does anyone have electoral roll, it looks like Brazehouse Lane Smethwick (maybe Brasshouse Lane after googling)

This is the one this thats bugging the hell out of me!

The Jane Hall bit is the name she has now
ie she married Samuel Hall

so Jane Betts mispronounced as Becks or mis heard
marries Samuel Hall........uncle
and so she is Jane Hall formerly Betts

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =889309297

that is the way it is on the Birth certifs you get
