COMPLETED..Annoying Wedding I cant find

Post by Fatman »

Would post details, but its for a living person!

Ive found a ruby wedding announcement in the paper for a family member, but I can find no record of the marriage 40 years ago on ancestry

Is there anything more I can do?

Its possible that it hasn't been transcribed yet, the only other way is Church records if they married in church.

Given you presumably know the month and hence the quarter and names you could search the original index -- bearing in mind that they could have been economical with the truth on the year (I have a set that gave a different year as their first born came to fast after the actual wedding.)

Do you know when the oldest child was born? You can try looking for the right date, and vary the year, maybe they were married after the birth of the first child or less than nine months before.
My father in laws parents didn't let on they were married a year later than everyone (their kids) thourght until their silver wedding anniversary.
