Hi , I am looking for information on William LORD b:1802 in Spotland ,Lancashire

In 1861 he was a fulling miller and 1851 was a fulling miller in Wuerdle and wardle with 12 acres employing 15 men and 2 boys.

He was married to Sarah b:1802 in Rochdale, Lancashire and had 7 children....
William b:1842,
Richard b:1833,
Mary Ann b:1835,
Martha b:1836,
Sarah b:1840,
Thomas b: 1844,
Lawrence b: 1850.

I can't seem to go any further back in both cases and am stuck?

So I would say that Sarah was the 2nd wife and not the mother of the children.

Given how common the name Lord is in that area I would get the birth cert for Lawrence Lord and that should give his mother's maiden name. then you can look for the first marriage.
