Re: *Archived tbc* -Moses Nock- look up for FS
Many thanks, NL. I ought to be packing
but I'll try to sort out the last brother, John Nock b. about 1863. I can see 2 on the 1911 born in the same area at about the same time, one married a Caroline from Quarry Bank, the other a Mary from Old Hill. Any thoughts?

I see now what you all spotted earlier, sorry to be so slow, NL!
James Nock died before 1861, Phebe had two sons as a widow, John Nock c. 1864 and Samuel in 1866, so they would have been half brothers to Daniel et al. Samuel appears to be lodging with Daniel later on, in 1891 I think. John married Mary Pearson at St Paul's Blackheath in 1886, IFI have the right John, and had children with splendid names, George Bertie Nock 1889, Edith c. 1891, Violet c. 1891, Tamar c. 1894, William 1896 and Frank 1902, all in Old Hill. I'm not sure what happened to Samuel b. 1866 - emigrated? Who was their father? Perhaps William Jones nailer of ? Bishops Castle? Unless he was Phebe's brother. The enumerator seems uncertain about William Jones's status and origin in the 1881 census: "Shropshire Bishops Castle" is crossed out next to his name (that connection again), "Marr.[?]" has been replaced with "Unm." and the word "Lodger" has been written over another word I can't read. What an incredibly hard life Phebe must have had as a mother, nailer and then widow, it wouldn't be surprising if she looked to a man in work for some support.

Hi Dennis
yep that is what we have not added John and Samuel on BCC till we know father
and that William might even be father to Daniel and Moses....very odd no father on his marriage although when deceased sometimes just left off.
