George Spittle's (b.1808) father was Tobias Spittle b. Jul 1783 in Netherton and d.Oct 1862 in Netherton. Tobias Spittle's father was John Spittle b. 1751 in Dudley (though probably Netherton).

Tobias Spittle married Nancy Bourn (b. 1786 in Coalbournbrook, Staffs and d.Mar 1858in Dudley) on 24th Aug 1806 in Halesowen, Worcs.

John Spittle married Elizabeth Harrison (b.1752 in Dudley) on 7th Jan 1776 in Dudley.

George's daughter Martha Spittle (b.1850) married William Bryan and their daughter Ellen Bryan (b. 27th Jul 1890 and d. Nov 1980 in Cradley Heath) married George Brookes (b.1891 and d.1982). Ellen and George had a daughter called Alice Freda Brookes (b.7 Aug 1924) and she married Thomas Churchill (b. 11th Nov 1920 and d. April 1997 in Cradley Heath).

If anyone can give me any further information on the Bryan, Brookes or Churchill families of Netherton, I would be very grateful.

Have you seen a marriage cert for Martha Spittle to William Bryan,

these are the only two that I can see.

I have filled in all Census and other details of Spittle Family on Bcc.
Ref. your Churchill and Brookes connections have you any more info on where George Brookes lived or who were his parents ? Churchill is difficult as we need some detail of parents of Thomas if possible.
I have found George Brookes married Ellen Bryan in 1913 at St. Andrew , Dudley 205/013/412
My Brookes line were from Rowley Regis and Netherton.

The Martha Spittle who married Cooksey Price was born 1837 in Netherton ref. 1881 Census so this is a red herring.
I am pretty certain that the Martha Spittle we are looking at married Thomas Garratt as info is from her great grandson.

If this helps????.....have original copy of marriage cert. for Samuel WESTON and Martha GARRATT, dated April 12th 1897, both age 22 yrs, stating respective fathers John WESTON & Thomas GARRATT (both chainmakers)...also birth Cert of Martha, stating Father Thomas GARRATT, mother Martha formerly SPITTLE, living at 19 Tibbetts Garden. Sparks.
