Her parents were John Cartwright and Jane Corfield, unable to find the marriage license...just going by census. That Cartwright part of the family is nuts, tons of children but looks like some were adopted and some were taken in bc it looks like 2 of John's siblings died early. The Cartwright side of my tree looks insane now. I will find that license!

How do you know for sure that Ethels parents are deffo John Cartwright and Jane....yes that could be her on census
but without that marriage certif info ..........you dont know for sure that John is her father............I think it is prob her
but you need the verifying info ...............
