The winds are picking up here in sunny west Midlands (Tipton \ Bilston area)

well north west recorded 108mph today gusting hear expecting more snow when temp drops dont think the cloggers could of handled the weather weve had in the uk the last 3 months

The wind almost had me off my feet today, but luckily a bin was near by to hang on too till my friend got hold of me
Terrible winds and rain here, took all the snow away though, well this morning it was frozen snow and so slippy.

My husbands on a rig in the North Sea at the momemt - he said it was very windy yesterday - but unless it blew while I slept, it died down before reaching us. Looks like it's going to blow a bit here tomorrow though (20m/s or 45mph, 73.4kmh or 40knots).
Hope it's not too bad over there! Looking at the weather forecasts, it seems to be turned on it's head as it's colder in the UK than here in Denmark - we're usually comparible with the North of England.

My husband is on a rig in the North Sea SS I spoke to him a little while ago and he said its very cold and not too bad where he is. But thats for now...

My husband is no further north(Danish sector) than I am, so it's not too cold - he said it was a bit hairy outside! Is your husband in the British sector Jo?
Of course if he follows the safety rules he always has one hand on the rail, when using the stairs (I hope so, he works for a company who does third party control in terms of safety on the rigs!!)

It blew a lot last night, but has calmed down now. There's been localised flooding around the bay, but that's nothing unusual - every time there's a real good blow that coincides with high tide it floods. So a low lying bridge over the river will be closed, and I'll bet there's flooding along the river in town too. It's the only river that flows into the Wadden Sea (well the Danish part of it) that isn't protected by a lock or sluse.

I was in Bridgnorth other day and all roads were closed off to it!!
When we eventually got around it ....I have never seen anything like it
the Severn had burst its Banks............Swans on Fields....Waves on Fields.
Caravans with water lapping at their door..................terrible!!
Like a disaster movie.

We have taken advantage of a break in the weather and have just been down to Charmouth Dorset, the beach as been re-arranged completely by the waves, I could not believe how many people were walking on or near previous and land slips looking for fossils.
