John Walter Pleass married Margaret Jane Jones 1885 Cardiff
and is on Census later as Walter or Walter J. or John born Oldbury Worcs. with Margaret and children

Divorce was not possible so marriage if right one is bigamous

I will post marriage to Charlotte

Legal way to divorce was through private members bill in parliament . Very expensive and only nobility could afford .
M.P.,s used to make quite a killing until a scandal similar to Expenses Scandal of today.
Nothing changes they are still all crooks !!!

Marriage looked up by RF
24 Sep 1882 Christ Church Quarry Bank
Walter John PLEASS 22 B Joiner Nether End Father William John Pleass Joiner
Charlotte Jesse Edwards 23 S Netherton Father Samuel Edwards Furnace Man
After Banns Both Signed
Wit; Thomas Edwards / Fanny Pleass

It looks like you are right Jo
Father seems to drop first name as well and Carpenter and Joiner are same
Also sister Fanny is witness

So Walter John Pleass married Charlotte Pleass and then Married Margaret Jane Owen in Cardiff in 1885 whilst Charlotte still living

Thanks to RF
