Thank you so much Farside for the actual info of the marriage. Really appreciated.

I just feel this is all connected to my Richard but just cannot prove it

So we can't connect up this Richard
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =221511540

to this Richard and Elizabeth as parents
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =205091152

or can we? :?

I am not sure. I really think the first Richard (my ancestor) is the son of the 2nd Richard and his wife Elizabeth. I just cant prove it :(

It all fits so well, but that baptism on Freereg of Richard Raybould had the wrong father. I wish I lived nearer to Dudley Archives so that I could go and check the original of that baptism to make sure the father really was William Raybould and not Richard Raybould.

Freereg has William as the father too and I think that is transcribed seperately? The proble with that whole family is that Elizabeth on the census is a bit too you for those first kids.

It was freereg that I found all those baptism on, including the one for a Richard with a William as father.

I really feel they are connected as Richard Junior's first son Samuel called quite a few of his children the same names.

So near but yet so far

What is the dob for the Elizabeth that marries Lester on other census coming out at?
We have 1803 based on 1851
they marry in 1830 and kids come along 1833 onwards so if she is b 1809 still of the right
age to marry in 1830

This looks to be Richard & Elizabeth Raybould in 1841. Living with them is Lester & Elizabeth Holt and their children: Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece: 996; Book: 11; Civil Parish: Kingswinford; County: Staffordshire; Enumeration District: 27; Folio: 48; Page: 8; Line: 2; GSU roll: 474624.

They were living at Level. Is this near Brierley Hill?

The baptism I found for an Elizabeth Raybould with Richard & Elizabeth as parents was in 1809.

The Level is one of the main thorough fares through Brierley Hill Claire, your Census find looks good. Linell

Many thanks Linnell. My knowledge of this area is very poor and need to start reading a few more maps

I just really want to find that thing that proves that Richard born 1800-1802c was the son of this Richard & Elizabeth.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my post.
It is Elizabeth snr that worries me.

1841
Richard Raybould 60
Elizabeth ditto 55
--
Lester Holt 30
Elizabeth ditto 25
John ditto 8
William ditto 7
Benjamin ditto 5
Thomas ditto 3
Elizabeth ditto 14

so Richard born 1777-1781 and Elizabeth born 1782-1786

which is not a problem for the birth of Elizabeth jnr but isn't it a bit tricky if they married in 1792 and started producing offspring in 1796?

And I'm sorry I didn't read where you (BlueSavannah) said the baptisms were off Freereg. I think the parents are also William and Elizabeth on Familysearch so two different transcriptions with the same names.

The burial for Richard Raybould in 1845 aged 82 suggests 1763 as birth year which would work fine to marry in 1792. But doesn't fit with the census one born 1777-1781.

Why does nothing ever fit? :(

Hi Gardner,

Nothing ever fits with this branch of mine

There is a burial at Brierley Hill of an Elizabeth Raybould aged 82 on the 24th March 1850.

Either the ages of Richard & Elizabeth on the 1841 census are way out, or this is another Richard & Elizabeth; however, I cannot locate another Richard & Elizabeth. Still looking though.

The ages for the older Richard & Elizabeth fit perfectly well for the marriage and the offspring they had. Even the last child Joseph who was baptised in 1812 would make Elizabeth 44 which is possible.
