Our kind of SHAKY BOTTLE was made/prepared thus.

Obtain a medicine bottle, one of those flat clear glass jobs with a cork, save some pocket money, go to the chemist and buy some pure liquorice (looked like obsidion and was just as hard).

Find a relatively clean curbstone and a cobble, breaking up the liquorice and put the pieces into the medicine bottle to about 1/3rd full. fill with water and then shake, shake, shake, shake untill all the liquorice has disolved, (this could take days).

Shake the bottle and you will see brown scum/froth form on top of the water, with the bottle upright place your lips round the top and suck this scum/froth off the water, break the seal around your lips and shake again to obtain more scum/froth.

You could tell those hooked on shaky bottle by the pink ring on their lips caused by the sucking and negative pressure (looking like a demented trumpet player).

Cheers, Tony.
