*Archive?* Jo sorting...Query on the Plants

Post by Dennis »

There is a link between the earlier Lavenders and a branch of the Plants on BCC:

Nancy Ann Lavender 26 Oct 1777 Old Swinford, Worcestershire -16 July 1835 Tipton, Staffordshire married a James Plant on 28 Jan 1796 at Kingswinford, Staffordshire.
I have him as James Plant 20 Feb 1774 Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, son of John Plant and Elizabeth Parry, grandson of James Plant and Sarah Williams, great grandson of John Plant 1700-1777 and Margaret Shaw c. 1702-1769.
But there may have been been a mix-up somewhere along the way between James Plant b. Tipton 1803 who married Sarah Jewkes 1808-1843 in 1825 St Thomas', son of James Plant and Nancy Ann Lavender on the one hand, and James the son of another James Plant and Nancy (I think Nancy Robinson) marr. 26 Dec 1793 St Thomas' on the other.
I don't have a ready solution. What do you think? :?

I have split this to debate it

So we have this James Plant b 1803 here
looks like he married twice?
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =606899277

need 1st marriage pls someone

and is this 2nd
11 Sept 1843 St Mary Kingswinford
-James Plant- full age- widower- moulder- Pennsnett- James Plant- collier
-Sarah Davis full age- widower- Pennsnett- John Wardley miner
banns
X both
Wit- Joseph Bayliss/ X Sarah Bayliss

Then we have the James Plant married to Nancy Lavender here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =617622558

So which couple does our James b 1803 belong to?

I have the James Plant who married Sarah Wardley's first marriage, Jan:

Descendants of James Plant

Generation No. 1

1. JAMES6 PLANT (JAMES5, JOHN4, JAMES3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born 02 Oct 1803 in Tipton, Staffordshire, and died Abt. 1852. He married (1) SARAH JEWKES 28 Feb 1825 in St Thomas' church, Dudley, Worcestershire. She was born 1808 in Worcestershire, and died 05 Apr 1843 in Church Street, Dudley, Worcestershire. He married (2) SARAH WARDLEY 11 Sep 1843 in St Mary's church, Kingswinford, daughter of JOHN WARDLEY.

Children of JAMES PLANT and SARAH JEWKES are:
2. i. DANIEL7 PLANT, b. 03 Jun 1827, Dudley, Worcestershire; d. Abt. Sep 1903, Dudley, Worcestershire.
ii. NANCY PLANT, b. Abt. 1835, Dudley, Worcestershire.
iii. JAMES PLANT, b. Abt. 29 Mar 1835, Dudley, Worcestershire; d. Abt. 1835.
iv. JAMES PLANT, b. Abt. 1836, Dudley, Worcestershire.
v. WILLIAM PLANT, b. 24 Mar 1839, Dudley, Worcestershire; d. 01 Apr 1840.

Generation No. 2

2. DANIEL7 PLANT (JAMES6, JAMES5, JOHN4, JAMES3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born 03 Jun 1827 in Dudley, Worcestershire, and died Abt. Sep 1903 in Dudley, Worcestershire. He married ANN ROUND 04 Oct 1846 in St Thomas' church, Dudley, Worcestershire, daughter of EDWARD ROUND and MARY CAPEWELL. She was born Abt. 1826 in Dudley, Worcestershire.

I think it's this James Plant, above, who is the son of James Plant and Nancy Ann Lavender, and not the James Plant who was son of this couple below:

Descendants of James Plant

Generation No. 1

1. JAMES6 PLANT (JOHN5, JOHN4, JOHN3, BENJAMIN2, BENJAMIN1) was born Abt. 15 Feb 1767 in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire. He married NANCY ROBINSON 26 Dec 1793 in St Thomas's church, Dudley, Worcestershire, daughter of WILLIAM ROBINSON and ANN. She was born Abt. 13 Jun 1773 in Dudley, Worcestershire.

But I'm a bit confused and may be wrong. Help! :?

and on 2nd who are wits there?

why do you think it is other way round?

and do you have a dob and bapt for the other James that you say is son to James and Nancy robinson so we can add him

we can switch round with a note

So you think that James Plant b Tipton 1803 here...

JAMES PLANT
Birth: 16 SEP 1803 Christening: 02 OCT 1803 Tipton, Stafford,
Parents:
Father: JAMES PLANT
Mother: ANN Extracted birth

is son of this couple
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections

and is this one
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =199067825

-----------

and that the other one here..
JAMES PLANT Christening: 08 MAY 1803 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester,
Death: 04 APR 1805 -------------------------------this could be wrong by the way.....
Parents:
Father: JAMES PLANT
Mother: ANN Extracted

is the son of James Plant and Nancy Robinson here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =199067825

is that correct?

note on Bcc that Nancy Lavender dies Tipton....which would fit with the James place of bapt that marries Sarah Jewkes

So do you think we move all those kids to the other couple?

are they the only James Plant and Nancy/ ann having kids?

can we sort out which kids the other couple should have?

Just got back to this, Jan. Yes, what a nightmare - I wish I'd never noticed! It's a real pain moving those kids across, but it does seem to be the right couple, Tipton etc. But how do we distinguish between the children of the two couples? Any ideas on how to proceed from here?
