It seems that Williiam Detheridge's wife, Elizabeth Clay, remarried Frederic E. Jones in 1864 and they emigrated to America in 1869:

"Elizabeth Clay Jones - obituary - Wyoming Press - May 14 1914 - Thursday

Another Pioneer Gone

_________

Mrs, F. E. Jones. Sr., Answers Final Call.

It is with much regret that we chronicle the death of Mres. Frederick E. Jones sr., who passed away at ther home on Center street Monday, May 11, 1914, after an illness of two weeks, she having been seized by a paralysis at that time.
Elizabeth Jones was born April 14, 1839, at Dudley, England, and was 73 years and 27 days old when the summons came. She was married in 1838 to W. D. Detheridge, who passed on; and on Aug. 27, 1864, at Worcester, England, she became the wife of Frederick E. Jones, sr., by whom she is now survived. To this union were born seven children, five of whom are now living, as follows: Mrs. Annie Whittaker, Knight; Mrs. Jeanette Marx, Cody, Wyo.; Fred E. Jones, jr., Evanston; Ernest Jones, Mandla, P. I.; George Jones, Evanston. The oldest son, by the first marriage is Wm. Detheridge, who now resides at San Francisco. Mrs. Clara Blanchard-Detheridge, Evanston.
In addition to these, there are nineteen grand children and six great grand children.

The deceased came to America in 1869 locating at Scranton, Pa., and removed to Evanston in 1876, being among our oldest and most repected pioneers. She was known and admired as one of our most dependable and jovial citizens, whose kindness and generosity had been shared by many a friend and weary traveler. A good woman has been taken and a place made vacant in the home which never can be filled"¦"¦"

Many thanks for all the info Jimmy, and thanks to RF for a super fast look up for the Marriage of William Detheridge:-

12.12.1858 St Thomas
William Detheridge Full Bach - Blacksmith Dudley - Edward Detheridge Dead Glass Blower
Elizabeth Clay Minor Spinster - Dudley - George Clay Painter and Glazier
Both signed. Witnesses were Sarah Clay and Charles (Glaze)

I think this is Edward here on BCC, his father Benjamin was a Glass Blower:-

The original article re William's death said Elizabeth's father was Charles:
"The first Witness was Charles Clay, Painter and Glazier from Holly Hall."

Maybe it's the marriage entry that was in error.

1851 at Holly Hall, Dudley
Charles Clay Head 34 Painter b. Warwick, Birmingham
Elizabeth Clay Wife 32 b. Staffs., Kingswinford
Charles Clay Son 13 b. Staffs., Kingswinford
Elizabeth Clay Daur 11 Scholar b. Staffs., Kingswinford
Emily Clay Daur 10 Scholar b. Staffs, Tipton
Sarah Clay Daur 8 Scholar b. Worcs., Dudley
Edwin Clay Son 5 MO Scholar b. Worcs., Dudley

Documents on an Ancestry public tree, "The Sullivan Family Tree", say that Charles Clay worked on the estate of the Earl of Dudley for 31 years prior to his emigration to America in 1870.
