Re: what kind of genealogist are you?
New, disorganized and all over the place
I guess I am a mixture of: The Ancestor Finder, the junkyard collector (this gets me in trouble, stopping this), the analyzer (can make one go mad).
I wish I was a planner.

Re: Richard YOUNG parents???
The other post was locked, fwiw just wanted to add some odd findings. I found that both Samuel MANSELL b. 1828 (husband of Nancy RICHARDS) and Richard YOUNG b. About 1815 (the father of my great great grandfather this thread was about) both have possible criminal records for larceny. MANSELL was fou...

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
So Richard Stokes is different than Richard Young....
So strange...still confused. I wish people made more creative names back then.
Back to the drawing board...

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
This is odd, I found another record of a Richard STOKES marrying Harriet Emma MEACHAM. Here are both... England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index, 1837-1915 Name: Richard Stokes Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1879 Registration district: West Bromwich Inferred County: Staffordshire Volume Number...

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
poss reason she puts spinster on marriage if the husbands were related ? Hmm, That would be somewhat convenient for me so I could find this mysterious Richard Young or Youngs easier. I kind of think he just left her or was already married who knows? I did find a death of a Richard Young in 1852 in ...

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
Also, what about the little 5 year old John RICHARDS...please tell me that is not the child of John Richards and Maryann YOUNG who are siblings or maybe 1/2 siblings knowing how OAKLEY gets around. In 1881, the census states that John Richards, now 35 is a step-son to STOKES. Maybe I am reading it w...

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
I am posting this in case it comes in handy one day 1911 has Richard Young in Stockton on Tees Lousia Ann Stother 54 (should read Louisa Ann Stokes, born 1857 West Bromwich, down as head but it looks as though sister has been crossed out) Louie Murice Evans 23 (born 1888 West Bromwich, niece of Lou...

Re: Richard YOUNG parents???
Well I have a grand aunt who was born in 1921, John Richard Young's sis...she is still alive at 93. It wouldn't surprise me if Richard lived that long at all.

Re: Diversion from Richard Young (I think I have cracked it!
I also think his parents were Richard Young 1812-1891 and Susan Adlam 1812-1883; they also lived in Lichfield when Richard Young was born . Harriet is from Lichfield too, lived in Bromwich in 1871. Richard and Harriet lived together in 1881 on 32 Hill Street. I just noticed right next door on 30 Hil...
