ARC TBC - JOHN HENRY ROBERTS
Father born 1896, had a sister Alice, no idea when she was born, he joined Naval School of Music age 14 Attested at Eastney in 1911 but not knowing where he was born. Can only hope someone is trying to trace him, should be easy to find because of his accent, somewhere in Lancashire. Any ideas? bandit

Thanks for that Mark, trouble is from his enlistment onwards everything says " birthplace not known " even the 1911 census at Eastney Barracks shows that out of 30 boys at the School of Music he was the only one not able to say where he was born, this leads me to think he may have been an ...

I think the last time I bought a cert. was 2006 at the cost of £7 I think, now, as far as I can make out they are £15 is that correct? cor ! that seems a bit much, is there any way to view the details without having to buy one, for instance, just the parents names.

Marine - band boy
JOHN HENRY ROBERTS joined age 14 at Portsmouth in 1911, Attestation paper says birth place unknown, his accent led me to Manchester and I found 2 possibles, but need some way to connect to Marine Band Boy, school records maybe.
