Re: Seeing double

.....I find an Army Birth (different BMD index) for a Rosanna Deane in 1853. The purchased certificate showed that this Rosanna was born 5 Nov 1853 to James Deane (again a sergeant) and Elizabeth O'Hara. What was the address given on this one? No address, just Date of Birth, Date and Place of Bapti...

Yeah, but can't find one, but it certainly looks like the first Rosanna died. That's the only possible explaination.

ARC TBC - Seeing double

According to the censuses, my g-g-grandmother Rosanna E Deane was born in 1852/53 in England. Her father was in the military. Searching standard BMD records I found a Rosanna Elizabeth Deane bn Q4 1852 Medway. The purchased certificate showed that Rosanna was born 2 Oct 1852 at Chatham Barracks to J...

Re: Please help me im so confused

All I can find is a potential birth for Thomas: Q2 (AMJ) 1904, Chester, 8a 399.

Get his birth certificate to determine his mother's name and maiden surname, then find his parents marriage to determine their age, then find them in the censuses.

Re: How to obtain death cert. when exact date unknown?

The only mandatory fields (indicated by a red asterisk) for a death certificate are: Surname of deceased, Forenames of deceased, Year [registered], Quarter [registered], District name, Volume Number, and Page Number. You need only to specify these. The other fields are used for 'Reference Checking' ...

Re: SCANTLEBURY, Looe, Cornwall, c1875

Hello again. I've finally sorted them out, but it was quite a challenge. Harriet Ann Scantlebury is registered as Skentlebury, and her father Charles Scantlebury is registered as Charles Mutton Scantelberry (note the spellings). The birth certificate for Charles states first names as Charles Mutton,...

Her name was Harriet Anne Scantlebury and her father was Charles Scantlebury.

I've searched for both of them but cannot find anything.

Charles Scantlebury was deceased at the time of Harriet's marriage (12 Apr 1903).

Use the Electoral Register. These are normally available in main libraries or record offices.

Today I was looking at the Electoral Register for 1909 to see who was living at a particular address at that time.

SCANTLEBURY, Looe, Cornwall, c1875

I am looking for SCANTLEBURYs living in Looe in Cornwall circa 1875. I have my great-grandmothers marriage certificate which shows that she married in Looe/Liskeard in 1903 at the age of 24, which means that she was born in 1878/79, but i cannot find her birth index or census entries (not even in 19...

I've now seen U.D. and R.D. in the same position on other birth certificates, which, I believe, mean Urban District and Rural District, so perhaps V.S.P. is a parish.

My great-grandmother was born Elizabeth Eleanor Williams, but she was known as Lizzie, her marriage certificate shows Elizabeth Helen, and her gravestone (Arnos Vale, Bristol) shows Elizabeth Ellen. My stepfather has been looking for the ancestors of a friend of his, whose surname is Lawrence, but t...
