Sorry for all the posts but seperate topics makes it less confusing, especially as these Kendricks all seemed to use the same first names repeatedly.
I have these on connections:
1841 New Street, Stourbridge
Thomas Kendrick 35 bricklayer y
Thomas Kendrick 15 y
Sarah Kendrick 15 y
Elizabeth Kendrick 15 y
And am trying to figure out the younger Thomas here. Was he son of the older Thomas? Probably. I can't find him on the census in 1851, but I can't find a death in Stourbridge for him between 1841-1851. Not on freebmd anyway.
There are 2 possible marriages:
Thomas Kendrick and Caroline Hitchens Jun qtr 1848 St Mary, Old Swinford also on IGI
or one also June qtr 1848, not sure which wife (Hannah Mason/Eliza Reynolds/Martha Turner/Betsy Woolridge) don't know which church, doesn't seem to be on IGI
So, I have looked for Thomas after that and found a possible match:
1861 Freemans(?) Yard, Stourbridge
Jane Kindon h married 64 Green Grocer Stourbridge
John Forrest lodger married 64 Chain Maker Oldswinford
Henry Moore lodger un 41 Well Sinker Stourbridge
Thomas Kendrick lodger wdr 34 Mason Stourbridge
There is a connection here maybe, Thomas Kendrick's uncle Joseph Kendrick, has a housekeeper named Penelope Kindon living with him from 1851 onwards. I am trying to see what the connection between the families is.
In 1871 there is this:
1871 Mount St? Stourbridge
Thomas Kindrick h (mar?) 44 Bricklayer Stourbridge - fits in with father and uncles' occupations, all bricklayers
Sarah Jones servant ? 30 Housekeeper Stafford
Mary Jones lodger 6 Birmingham, Warwickshire
Any help please?
Just found a death of a Caroline Kendrick Sep qtr 1848, perhaps of the Kendrick/Hitchens marriage?

No worries about the amount of posts Rachel makes it easier in the archives to find stuff

Re: Thomas Kendrick abt 1827 Stourbridge
Getting somewhere! (while tearing my hair out)
1851 Freeman's Yard, Stourbridge
Jane Kindon h widow 51 green grocer Stourbridge
Jane Kindon lodger un 19 charwoman? Oldswinford
Edward Benson lodger un 61 journeyman joiner Preston, Lancs
checked for a birth of this younger Jane Kindon and found on IGI:
christening Jane KINGDON 23 Oct 1831 Oldswinford
parents - Thomas Kingdon and Penelope
Again confirming that connection, as Penelope became housekeeper to Joseph Kendrick (uncle of the Thomas K who was lodging with Jane Kindon snr in 1861) But were the Kendricks and Kindons just friends or related?

Re: Thomas Kendrick abt 1827 Stourbridge
On that 1841 census, the Thomas Kendrick family is living next to a 'Wooldrige' family:
All born in county
Jno Wooldrige 60 Labourer
Leah Wooldrige 50
George Wooldrige 15 Iron Shifter
Alice Wooldrige 20 Worsted Spinner
Elizabeth Wooldrige 10 Bobbin Piecer
Harriott Wooldrige 15
Anne Pardoe 15 Worsted Doubling(?)
Elizabeth in this family is of an age to be the "Betsy Woolridge" in that June qtr 1848 marriage???

Re: Thomas Kendrick abt 1827 Stourbridge
Thanks Dianel, very good thinking!
Another point to make from what you have found is the Anne Pardoe living with the Wooldridge family. Thomas Kendrick (the older one) b1802 is living with 'wife' Ann in 1851 with more children. Got their daug Mary's birth cert yesterday and mother's maiden name is... Ann Pardoe.
Big coincidence eh? I have a seperate thread running on Ann Pardoe, but definitely think this is something to look into. Thanks again for your help.
EDIT, Just to save any double posting I have commented on this on the Ann Pardoe thread here...http://www.genealogyforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=923&p=8680#p8680 if anyone wants to reply.
