A couple of Black Bugles ago Ellen Connolly was asking for help tracing her family who were the Publicans of the Pub/Inn at Furnace near Halesowen for many generations.

Her main concern was the tracing the family of Sarah Massey born abt 1826.

This is Sarah and her family in 1841.

As he was an anvil maker maybe they had a blacksmiths wedding like at Gretna Green!

I found this Marriage and sent it to Ellen, plus some local pictures and history of the Furnace Pub:-

Marriage at Sedgley 29.8.1825 for James Massey and Sarah Marsh, being as James and Sarah both give Dudley as a place of birth, it is probably this one.
