City has coldest May in 40 years

Post by MarkCDodd »

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/city-has-coldest-may-in-40-years-20110531-1fdxz.html

We have had the coldest May in 40 years and wettest since 2000.

Darwin has had its coldest May on record!!!!

Yet we are just about to get slugged hundreds of dollars in a new "Carbon Tax" to help combat Global Warming.

It will be the end of the Labor Government because I do not think the independants will pass the bill in the upper house.

Double Dissolution. Election. Labor bye bye.

Brrrrr........I think I will throw a few more politicians on the fire.

It always does balance out.

If you look at tens of thousand of years of ice cores, the hotter it is in the North, the colder it is in the South.

The average between the two hemishperes has been fairly constant.

Oh for crying out loud, global warming doesn't mean that everywhere will get warmer all the time, hence the better title of climate change, what it does mean is more extremes of weather, more frequently, at least in the short term; the rate at which we are getting these extreme weather events (which it is correct to say we've always had) is speeding up.

There are no more frequent or extremes of weather than at any other time in history.

All the variations experienced are explained by the effects of El Nino and La Nina.

This natural cycle, along with the 11 year sunspot cycle and the shifting of the earth's axis are all you need to explain why it was so cold last month, why we experienced over 200 days of above 21 degree weather a while ago, why we had the worst bushfires in recorded history and why the USA has just been hit by its deadliest Tornados.

Climate Change was not a term invented by the Global Warming proponents.

It was a term invented by the moderates who continue to argue, quite correctly, that we are seeing nothing different than has occured in the past and that Humans and CO2 are not the cause.

They needed a term to explain all of the phenomena and take away the emphasis on Global Warming.

It has been hijacked by the Global Warming doomsayers to help defend their shoddy science.

Both sides of the argument are guilty of cherry picking data, poor mathematics (the hockey stick graph for instance) and mind boggling arrogance.

If this was a Court that worked on the principle "Guilty without reasonable doubt" then not only have the prosecution not convinced me that Global Warming exists, they have certainly not proven the man made CO2 emmisions are the cause.

Australia contributes 1.25% of all CO2 emmisions.

This extra tax will help us reduce our CO2 emmisions by 25%.

So they will stuff up our economy to reduce the worldwide CO2 emmisions by 0.25%

Sounds like you should look at this guy, Mark:

http://www.lomborg.com/cool_it/

He's always getting critisized for his alternative views on climate change. I remember one comment I saw on a BBC doc (strangely I first heard of him from BBC world - turns out he's a Dane!), that if you collected the predictions of climate change that were presented at a climate summit, and took the average, the result would be no global warming. He also said something about, that if we help developing countries to be more "environmentally friendly" then that would do more than what the western countries are doing.
