And what a time for my first post as " Roving Rob"!!
Aston Villa versus West Bromwich Albion this saturday!! 8)
A Derby!! One with a long history of exciting matches.
One of my earliest memories is of Ronnie Allen scoring against the Villa last match of the season 58/59 to send then down to the old Second Division. (sorry mustn't laugh) I suppose i have to take an objective stance.
Anyway enough of that, what are the expectations of the coming match this saturday?
Villa are 20 points ahead of West Brom but the Albion are battling for their lives and are an improving side after good victories over Man City and Tottenham Hotspur!!
I reckon a draw.

Don't forget next tuesday 13 January FA Cup third round matches.
Birmingham City v Wolves and Peterborough v West Brom.
Predictions anyone?(Contributions from the fairer sex also welcome!! Dont be shy!!)

Nice one A5!!
The Custard Bowl? You'll have to excuse my ignorance(cos i dont live local!!) but obviously thats the nickname for Molyneux.
Wolves to win after a replay and Albion to scrape through?
Hmmm.My Blue Nose mate Winston won't be too pleased with that!!

Evening all 8)

It appears that the smog hanging over certain areas of the black country has made certain people colour blind!

Gold is Gold Custard is yellow!!
But then I suppose baggies fans have only a tesco bag as a template.

Predictions- ok

Aston Villa 3- baggies nil
(Even though it pains me- I agree with Blues V Wolves as a draw with Wolves winning the replay at the

GOLDEN PALACE

Evening all :(

Despite the fact that it was a very bad day at the office
and we slipped on the bannana skin against Preston we are still top of the league!

But that is poor consulation after the shambles I witnessed this afternoon.

On a more positive note Tesco United were put in their place at Villa Park!
So that is at least a crumb of comfort to take whilst drowning my sorrows with a rather nifty Cabernet!

regards Ed

Tuesday is another day

Nice to see Wolves on top of Division One Wolfman despite a home defeat to Preston North End!!How often do former players come back and haunt their old club?
It seems West Brom lost against the run of play and an uncharacteristic blunder by Scott Carson.(didn't he do something like that on his debut for England? )
My mate Dave informs me that they seem to have a good 'un in Jay Simpson.Could be the firepower they need up front.Cos thats all West Brom need!! A goal scorer!!
Now i don't know where all this Tesco United nonsense began but it all seems a bit childish to me!!But,hey,i've been out of the country for nearly 40 years so what do i know!!
Moving on, Birmingham again have a free weekend before tuesdays match with Wolves. Will the enforced rest do them good or will Wolves be rearing to go after the defeat today? Blue Nose Winston can't wait for tuesday and he doesn't have to pay!!
All season ticket holders can get in for nothing!! How cool is that? Nice one Birmingham! 8)
Is Jay Simpson available for for tuesdays game at Peterborough?
Will Lee Bowyer make an immediate impact against Wolves?
We'll see tuesday!! Can't wait!!

The night before ... can we sleep? :?
Winston called me tonight and he's not happy cos Blues wont be at full strength!! How can Lee Bowyer and Scott Sinclair be cup tied? :?
And it seems Kris Boyd may well be a Blues player after all!! You heard it here first.
When was the last time Wolves won the cup? I'll give you a clue Norman Deeley( from Wednesbury) scored two goals and a tackle he did on Dave Whelan(the present Wigan chairman) resulted in the end of Whelan's career!!
Did you know..........the compensation he received from the Fooball League he used to buy a clothing stall on Wigan market. The start of his vast emporium and a business worth millions!!
Norman died a couple of years ago in his late mothers home in Wednesbury!
If Norman Deeley was playing today he'd be worth millions!! :?

I have a bad feeling about West Brom's game at Peterborough!! My mate Dave's confident enough though and he's a regular on the Brummie Road End ( so he knows more than me!!)
We shall see!!
