Hamburg Marathon

Post by snoopysue »

That crazy man of mine is at it again!
He's running the Hamburg Marathon on sunday, he's hoping for a time under 3 and a half hours, but it's forcast hot weather, so maybe a little slower. He ran his last one in 3 hours 50, but this time he's stuck to a proper training plan, so fingers crossed......

Water's not a problem, they have plenty of water stations all the way round - it's more difficult when he's training as any sort of belt/ backpack is annoying and can rub a bit.

Please wish him luck - I'm sure he'll do well with all that training.

He'll only shout at me, he doesn't like blowing his own trumpet (or me doing it for him!) - but hey, what he doesn't know wont hurt him!!!

Well we're back!

He did it in 3 hours and 27 mins - it was dead hot too!!!
I did the other Hamburg(er) Marathon!!
Today there were quite a lot of limping young men around the city - mine ended up with some good blisters between his big toe and the next toe, but otherwise was just tired.

Oh and I can recomend Hamburg for a city break, lovely city, wit some good shopping possibilities.
Just to show how crazy he is, my husband ran 42.2 km yesterday, and he's gone running this evening - just to loosen the legs up a bit!

...not only that, but Santa Claus flies over the city every year. If I can find the photo, I post it to prove that he really does exist! :o
