Is anyone aware of a Joseph C Cartwright who married a Sarah Hart in Jun 1919. I can't seem to find any evidence of her apart from the marriage ???

I think she must have been born abt 1900 as she had a 20yr old son in 1939 who died ? in the war - Frederick. My dad - Eric always maintained he died at Dunkerque but the dates dont add up. His mother (Sarah Hart )died not long after from grief but can't find death record. I have all the details for Joseph. I'm going to send for the marriage cert and possibly birth certs. Has anyone used the archives in Coseley wondered whether its worth going there ?

You will find copies of church marriages, christenings and buriels at Coseley - it's well worth a visit to look through the Parish Records. You can only get birth and death records from the Register Office.

Joseph C Cartwright and Sarah Cartwright are buried in the same grave, so they probably were married. If this is your Sarah, you will find the buriel record at Coseley and the death record I mentioned earlier in 1957, ties up with the buriel record.

I found some leads too and am trying to put them together. I think that Sarahs mother remarried a Skelding.
