THE Wedding
Watched the BBC coverage from start to finish.
Apart from the fashion commentators the whole thing was quite enjoyable.
Highlight of the BBC coverage was the bloke from Stoke On Trent wearing the Union Jack glasses who sang God Save The Queen.
It was just good to see the people enjoying something rather than worrying about all the troubles in the world.

Re: THE Wedding
It was lovely. Beautiful dress, very 1950's reminded me of the Grace Kelly style.

Re: THE Wedding
I was at work, luckily in the office so I could decide for myself when I had lunch, so that was timed so I could see Kate going into the church.
I loved her dress too!
Of course I had the whole lot recorded, so my husband had to put up with me last night! He liked the car too, not to mention the planes! I loved the trees in the Abbey, unusual but very beautiful.
The advantage with recording it was of course zooming past all the boring chitchat!
Just out of curiosity, was it just shown on BBC in the UK? Reason I ask, is that it was on two channels here! As is every other royal event! Now I'm a royalist, but talk of overkill!!!

It was on all 5 main free to air channels in Australia.
I think they have 22 digital channels now but since I use cable I haven't really noticed.

Re: THE Wedding
Hmmm, all Royal families claim links back away, it's part of their justification, but I think you'll find many a Pretender with just as strong (or weak) a link to ancient Royals. Anyway, why should a link to an invading French/Scandinavian war lord and his supporters be considered over and above any Anglo Saxon remnants still around?

Re: THE Wedding
Should an Anglo Saxon have claim over a Pict or Briton?
We need a decendant of Boudicca (Boudecea) to step forward.

Re: THE Wedding
The trouble with all of the pre Anglo Saxon rulers is that none of them ruled the whole nation, just parts of it, so if we're going to be sticklers then the only Royal Houses to have held the whole of the British Isles (and some might argue whether the whole of Ireland was actually held) would be the Stewarts and the Hanoverians, with possibly the Saxe-Coburgs in there as well.

Re: THE Wedding
Hey, the Scots wouldn't want one of theirs to be King of the United Kingdom. They made that mistake once before
