Thankyou Yes its a possible bit I keep coming across another William Albert (1906) with the parents William Floyd and Elizabeth I have contacted a cousin who is still in contact with one of my dad's living sisters so should hopefully be able to get a bit further back one I have this information Can you find the other William Albert Floyd on the 1911 census? I don't see as this will make any difference but at least I will know which way I am going when my cousin gets back to me.

Frederick Arthur Floyd was William Albert's father
I ordered the marriage certificate of William Albert Floyd and Bertha Benson
I think he married Mary (Bessie) Elizabeth Higgins but i'm not sure
and there seems to be 2 Frederick Arthur Floyds that could be him
so i'm really not sure where to go from here

I have received the birth certificate today for William Albert Floyd
Here are the details:

Registration District: Liverpool in the County of Liverpool
When & where born: 13th July 1906 Lambert Street (can't work out the numbers 9? 2?)
Name: William Albert
Sex: Boy
Name & surname of father: Frederick Arthur Floyd
Name, surname & maiden name of mother: Mary Floyd formerly Higgins
Occupation: General Labourer
Signature, description & residence of informant: M Floyd Mother 23b Bidden Street
When registered: 23rd August 1906

So the marriage we had for Frederick and the censuses are all correct. There is just one thing puzzling me and that is the baptism I found on google:

I would dismiss this as a differnt William Albert but the address is the same as on his birth certificate!!

Strangly when I do and address search under Bidden St , for both 1901 and 1911 I don't get anything, even with wildcards! I then tried to google bidden street, and came up with Bidder Street - no Floyd's at 23b in 1901 or 1911. When Searching for William Floyd born 1906 on the 1911 census, only one comes up (already on this thread) - what does make me think a bit is that there are two Williams:

I've tried looking for a marriage for William and Elizabeth, again no luck! I can find William Albert's birth, but only one!

Hi Yes that is the certificate I ordered. I had the problem of which one of the two William Albert's were my grandfather so I ordered the marriage certificate which told me Frederick Arthur was his father, which still left me with the problem of which Frederick Arthur as there appears to be 2 again!! So I ordered William's birth certificate which has confirmed that Mary nee Higgins was his mother and it looks like the Preston born Frederick Arthur is his father.
I think i'm now going to have to order their marriage certificate to find out who their fathers were as I seem to have hit a brick wall.

Looking at the certificate it does look like Bidder street I just assumed it was Bidden as thats what the baptism said. It could be an n or an r

As far as the two Williams go Apparently William Francis's birth is on Freebmd with surname Higgins Probably because he was born in 1901 before they married in 1904
