*Archived * -Mary Robinson born 1818

Post by mumbles »

I am looking to make connections between Parsons/Robinson/Riley families but I cannot validate ancestry of a Mary Robinson born 1818 RR as there are conflicting versions on Ancestry Trees and elsewhere.
Mary married a Nebuchadnezzar Parsons born 1813 RR who died c.1849 and she then married a widower Samuel Riley born 1816 RR in 1850 ( I have validation of all these facts)
Problem is that two versions are available regarding ancestry of Mary Robinson :-
a) Moongirl on RR online noted Mary was a daughter of Noah Robinson born 1795 and Susannah Horton
b) Rose Tree on Ancestry notes same lineage
c) Three Parsons researchers note that Mary was daughter of Noah Robinson born c. 1824 and Elenor Parsons ( date of birth does not tie up with Census details when married to Samuel Riley ( This Mary already on bcc)
On Bcc only a son Thomas is shown for Noah and Susannah Robinson and I am looking to find validation that they also had a daughter Mary who went on to marry Nebuchanezzar Parsons ( record of marriage is shown as Mary Rabason March quartile of 1846 Dudley vol.18 page 294 and then went on to marry a Samuel Riley as Mary Parsons in September quartile of 1850 Dudley vol.18 page 334
If this can be validated I can insert all the Riley/Parsons/Robinson connections

As you pointed out, Mumbles, in all census with Samuel Riley, Mary is said to have been born 1818/19.

There are these:
IGI - Extracted Recordss,
Parents: Noah and Susannah Robinson:

MARY ROBINSON - Christening: 20 DEC 1818 Halesowen, Worcester
JOHN ROBINSON - Christening: 22 AUG 1824 Halesowen, Worcester
THOMAS ROBINSON - Christening: 22 SEP 1816 Halesowen, Worcester

Thanks Di,
That is sufficient and I can make connections.
Did I read somewhere you have Belfast connections ?
I am spending New Year in Antrim at wedding of my god-daughter. We lived there for 20 years before moving to Wales

So just so I understand this there are 2 mary Robinsons with fathers Noah
one Noah married Susannah Horton and the other Ellen Parsons.
And one of the Marys married a Samuel Riley?

So it isnt a case of deleting one of the Mary Robinsons then?
She did exist or rather 2 existed.

Presume you are sorting it Mumbles so would this then be Completed?
If so I will archive.

Yes, Mumbles, my Mateers (my maiden surname) came from Belfast to Australia in 1853. Have a great time in Antrim. I'm looking forward to getting over there sometime. Most of my heritage is Irish and Scottish although I seem to spend more time on the West Midlands lines - I wonder why

Sorry to go off thread ... archive away NL
