I began researching my family tree during the winter of 2009/2010 with a couple of free family tree sites. I stopped during the summer as I prefer to be out and about - and picked up again this winter with ancestry.co.uk
My only regret is that I did not trace my family while the older folk were still alive. I have told my sons, if they are going to do it - do it now!
The surnames involved are VALENTINE, FOSTER, AWCOCK AND BROGDEN.
I have come up against one or two stumbling blocks.
I remember when I was quite young my grandfather telling me that his grandfather (or great grandfather - I can't remember exactly) had come from Ireland. I wish now I had asked him more, as I have tried to find the Irish link - but cannot!

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
