I am getting more and more frustrated.
Have visited 2 lots of archives this week and Im still flipping stuck.
1) William Gowler to Prudence
Their first child (William Gowler) is born in 1723 in Warboys, Huntingdonshire
They go on to have 6 more children.
I have checked the parish records, ive checked familysearch, ive checked the Huntingdonshire Marriage Index.
2) Dockrill Gowler and Sarah
Dockrill/Dockerel/Dockerill Gowler b1761 in Warboys, Huntingdonshire first marries Mary Hawkins in 1784
He eventually moves to Chatteris, Cambs (just down the road)
In 1804 there is an Entry in the Registers for the Death of a Mary Gowler listed as inf Daughter of Dockrill and Sarah (I checked the entry in the original registers - so its def not a transcription error)
He then tries to get married again in 1809 to Elizabeth Hudson in 1809 (There is a banns listing but no marriage)
Im just not sure where to look next - or If i have to give up?

Re: 2 Marriage Brick Walls
There is a settlement certificate for William Gowler single man of Warboys 1721
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/ ... er#13-1-10
Could that be him before he married? I've not looked at settlement certs myself but it might say where he came from I think. Anyone know?
Won't help with the marriage though.

AHA a lead!
Perhaps prudence came from wherever he did, but they got married afterwards?
I will certainly check that out!

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
