From the IGI for Halesowen I have the following

Mary Garrett bapt 18 Sept 1791 Halesowen
Parents Thomas Garrett & Elizabeth

Parents Thomas Garrett & Elizabeth

Hannah Garrot bapt 22 May 1796 Halesowen
Parents Thomas Garrot & Elizabeth

Elizabeth Garratt bapt 16 Sept 1798 Halesowen
Parents Thomas Garratt & Elizabeth

Are these the children of Thomas Garratt Bapt 1 Mar 1769 who married Elizabeth Nock 10 Mar 1797 ?

Also are the following:

Sally Garrett bapt bapt 16 Aug 1789 Halesowen
Parents Julius Garrett & Sarah

The children of Julius Garratt Bapt 7 JUNE 1761 who married Sarah Higgins 9 April 1787 ?

Has anyone looked at these or have opinions?

It looks likely that those children baptised in Halesowen to a Thomas and Elizabeth belong to Thomas Garratt & Elizabeth Nock, TWG. That would make their 1st daughter named after Thomas' mother, perhaps.

And, as a very long shot, there is an Elizabeth Nock christened on 05 OCT 1766, Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, England with parents Thomas Nock & Sarah.

This could make her the right age to be Thomas Garratt's wife and would have their 2nd daughter being named after Elizabeth's mother.

As I said, a VERY long shot.

Di If we can add anything to BCC that we are happy with pls do
I just don't have time to add anything at mo.

Do we have Thomas on twice then with 2 wives?
if so can we connect up?

The remarriage of Thomas to Ann:

Witnesses: Richard Rock,Thomas Edwards
Married by banns, both made their mark
Thomas listed as a widower

So the census of opinion is these were the children of the Thomas & Elizabeth Garratt as stated.

Funny what you find when you're looking for something else

The evidence for Thomas Garratt's' 2nd wife to be Ann Willetts, is convincing enough for me.

Now, are the 2 Thomas Garratts (b. 1769) the same person?

The date of christening and area is the same for both Thomas's.

The Thomas that we have on BCC married to Elizabeth Nock, Is the son of Shelah, and has brothers, Shelah and Julius.
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... &pid=24821

The Thomas who married Ann Unknown names 2 of his sons Julius and Shelah;
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... &pid=14536

Possible Thomas-married-to-Elizabeth Nock child naming pattern:
Mary - Husband's mother
Sarah - Wife's mother (?)
Elizabeth - Wife
Thomas - Husband (& possibly wife's father)

Thomas-married-to-Ann Willetts child naming pattern:
Rhoda - dunno - Wife's mother? (There are a lot of Rhodas amongst the Willettses)
Thomas - Husband (& possibly wife's father)
Julius - Husband's brother & uncle
Ann - Wife
Shelah - Husband's Father & brother/s

Yes, I reckon, at the least we can put Willetts as Ann's surname and join up the 2 Thomases.

What do you think? Shall I?

However, we would be maybe jumping to conclusions on allocating all the Thomas/Elizabeth children to our Thomas & Elizabeth Garratt as 3 of them are baptised prior to their marriage.

Yes, I can't see another Julius married to a Sarah/Sally around this time, and the ages of the children fit with the time of Julius and Sally's marriage, so I will add these 2 as children of Julius Garrat and Sarah/Sally Higgins.
