*Arc tbc* ---Lily Willetts...again
Hello everyone,
I hope it's OK to start a new thread. I couldn't get into the other one
I have in fact found the original marriage certificate for Lily Willetts and Cornelius Dunn. A trip up into the loft revealed its whereabouts this afternoon! Also up there were many photographs of Lily's siblings. I have found an amazing picture of Levi Willetts with his wife and son. I can carry the tree on for you if you would like me to as I can remember many details of the siblings and of their children. In fact, Gertrude Willetts's eldest son sadly died a few days ago. I have no idea how I can let you see the marriage certificate. It goes without saying that your details were all correct!
I would love to try and trace both the Willetts and the Dunn tree further back. My mother always said that our ancestors were 'boat people' and I would love to know if that is true.
Any ideas on what I should do next....thanks so much for all your help.
Regards,
Angela

How come I can't just climb into a dusty loft and find old photographs

Re: Lily Willetts...again
Thanks again everyone for all of your research. It's looking a little confusing at the moment but I'm sure I'll glean the finer details as I go along.
I agree...the loft did hold a certain amount of treasures. Most of the photos were from my mother (Cornelius Dunn's daughter) and luckily for me, she was a hoarder! I did know that some of the photos were there, although not the marriage certificate...that was a complete surprise...but the loft is a tricky place to get into and I had a hard job persuading my husband to attempt the journey! Now they will stay safely in the house with me. I realise they are far too precious to be kept in what might have been a disastrous environment. Some are a little the worse for wear, but most have survived well. I also found an old family bible belonging to my paternal great grandmother......but I suppose that's another story
Best regards.
Angela

Re: Lily Willetts...again
Hi again all,
It's actually a New Testament awarded to my paternal great grandmother for 'early attendances' at the 2 Gates Ragged School on May 21st 1881. She was born Florence Richards in 1875. If you would like me to impart the rest of the information, I can do, but as it's my father's side of the family, I was hoping to reserarch that at a later date, thus concentrationg on the Dunns and the Willetts. The book mentions Bingham and Richards.
Regards,
Angela

Re: Lily Willetts...again
I think we have that marriage down for a look up for Caleb and Nancy
but could take ages to look that up
flagging to archive this thread unless you need any more from it
If we think that is Calebs parents if anyone wishes to add them
