what been going on as i couldn't update anything that i read did a virus scan thinking i got one of those pest on me system ?

Unfortunately, database connections failed overnight and I became aware of the issue first thing. Sods law meant this was the worst possible time for me and I wasn't able to deal with it as quickly as I would have liked, so apologies to anyone who was frustrated by the inability to post.

I believe that it was just a failure of the database server and not in any way related to the forum itself. I've carried out a fair bit of investigation to try and confirm this 100% but, as is often the case, it's all but impossible to say after the fact. I've double backed up all the data just to be on the safe side but, fingers crossed, hope it's now sorted.
