10.10.10 so who had a lucky day?

Post by gardener »

This is supposed to be a lucky day, and it was for my husband at least.

He was very late (nothing new there) getting ready for a trip abroad. Late as in still not finished packing when the taxi came to pick hime up. Then I checked the flight time and found the plane was delayed by almost two hours so I made the taxi driver a cup of coffee and the packing was finished no problem

And then he got away with only a small charge for being over the luggage allowance because the plane wasn't full!

Yesterday was BATHURST.

That is a religous day for all Aussie blokes.

We sit in front of the TV and barrack for Ford or Holden in a seven hour car race.

Wives have learnt avoid speaking to us when Bathurst is on. If they do they can just expect some Alpha Male grunting in reply.

I have hardly missed a lap of it in 44 years.

But it was unlucky as they also had the Formula 1 race from Japan and the MotoGP motorcycle race from Malaysia on at the same time!

How could the Gods let that happen?

No problem, Mark. Himself's new TV has that facility where you can have 2 channels showing on the screen at once. So we had Bathurst and the Formula 1 alternating big to little ALL day! _ With me muttering "Very interesting" when my attention was drawn to one or both of them.

Mark's right, it is a religious occasion for Aussie blokes and must be accompanied by meat pies or sausage rolls, or more fashionable finger-food (It really doesn't matter what, they won't notice what they put in their mouth anyway) and beer. All to be supplied silently with suitable contortions to ensure no part of the supplier's body intrudes between the said males and the TV screen.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Yes, I have the split screen and can record three things at once but I can;t watch three at once.

I overcame the problem by having Bathurst and the F1 on the TV and the motorcycles on my laptop.
