Have done a look up on a marriage and the occupation is this...and I have seen it now a few times....

I found this marriage for a samuel but need to place John with a Samuel and mother

but whether that Samuel is the father of the John b 1870 not sure.

I have had a look on the census and cant see John William Frederick Bissell on 71 or 81 but not had a good look...but I would have thought Samuel father was born abt 1850 or just prior.- so could be one of those above....

I have found John WF Bissell on the 1901 he is down as a manuf of cycles and is born RRegis

Whatever a Fosbrook Norton did, I bet he made bits of something out of metal!
