ARC - CHARLES MALLOWS

Post by Midsummer »

Hello everyone,

I am trying to trace the parents and siblings of Charles Mallows born approx 1814 in Redenhall, Norfolk.

From his marriage and death certificates it states his fathers name is John Mallows (no other details).

I have found 6 John Mallows in Norfolk, but do not know if one of these is Charles's father. Also I have found a John Mallows born approx 1790 in Flixton who I was told was Charles's father, but after checking, I found that he was not the father.

So I hope somebody can help me.

Cheers

I have heard of his famous brother. His name was Marsh.

Bad news. L.D.S. have permission for every Church in Norfolk except one....which is St. Mary's (Redenhall with Haleston & Wortwell).

The Nofolk Record Office have them but I think permission is needed from the Deanery if you wish to obtain copies.

I think anybody is allowed to look through them.

This is the collection related to the church.

Thank you for your reply, but I have not found this person yet, so I cant say this is not one of my Mallows.

Thank you, so until it comes on line or I find someone to go and look at the records, I have hit another brick wall.

Thanks again.

Thank you Northern Lass, I have already done that and they have advised me that depending on what copies I want and whether they are on microfish or something else ( I cant remember what it is) it may be expensive to have done, because they have to get a staff member to go through the records and look for the information that I am after.

So thanks again

I was quoted £4.50 from worcs on a marriage one
for a black and white folded copy.
but that was for a marraige I had the day month year and church for
so if they have to look in depth presume there are research charges which is fair enough.

Thank you Northern Lass for your price, but as you said you had the exact date where I am not sure of his birth, because so many sites and census records all have different dates and spelling of his last name. I have gone through all of these records and still can not really be certain when he was born, it is sometime between 1812 - 1816 and also I am not sure if he was actually born in Redenhall, because census records and other sites vary in the place of his birth.

So at this present time, I am looking at 1814 in Redenhall for his birth/baptism.

So thanks again
