Yes you are right, my grand fathers mother, she also connects to Maths Girl, I wish I could find more photo's of the Shakespeare's.

The 1911 census copy I have say's 11 born alive, 8 still living, 3 that have died.

I just remembered, that her son John had 6 children, 2 sets of twins plus 2 girls, the twins died very early.

She only recorded 11 live births in the copy of "Pilgrim's Progress" that I have -- the equivalent of some people's family Bible

My grandfather Benjamin said he was called that as he was the 13th child -- he was the youngest recorded. -- my mother said there were supposed to be a set of twins in there but we always assumed they were still births as they were not recorded even though one daughter who died less that a year old was.

John Shakespeare and Mary Ann's daughter Mary Ann married a John Taylor in 1900, 1911 Mary Ann Taylor is a widow living with John and Mary Ann Shakespeare with 3 children John, Leslie and Lily, so the person who put this in the Bugle would be decended from John or Leslie.
