Well anyone going thru the agonies with their kids?
good results or disappointed ones?
Must be great getting them and going off to Uni
infact Wolvie commented the other nite when we were watching somat
about punting on the river at Oxford or Cambridge ( Geography not my strong point)
that he didn't remember doing that at Manchester!
Omg can you imagine on the canal at manchester
although the docks there are great now!

I remember the agony well enough. Thankfully my parents weren't the kind to heap uneccessary pressure on us, one of my friends was promised money for each grade A he got, on a sliding scale going down the grades. Mine, bless them, took me out for a meal afterwards, but I didn't know about it beforehand.
When I graduated as a radiographer I had a dentists appointment straight after I got the results - my mum couldn't stand the suspense and rang them up so she could speak to me. I think she was more nervous than I was.

finally got an offer from Birmingham at 5.oclock
this afternoon...But now the site is down to confirm
it! Talk about frustrating
...for once genealogy
has had to take a back seat.

I am so glad that all the pressure of results is behind me, although it's nice to know that Wolvie is also an alumnus of Manchester
I think the nearest you can get to punting at Manchester is the dragon boat race they do now, or the varsity rowing against Salford. Although I did go punting when visiting my friends in Oxford, it is quite fun.

Quite a nice thought when you consider what we're all doing
