They did a fairly good job of translating the book onto the screen.

Viggo Mortensen really picks his movies carefully and this is another fantastic performance by him.

It is a great movie and I am glad an Australian made it.

The Americans are tending to put happy endings onto movies that totally ruin the story.

My Sisters Keeper is a classic example of the "That is too sad...lets make it happy" syndrome.

Imagine if that scenario happened in the future would we resort
to cannabalism!
They could pig out for days on me!

But it got me thinking would we want to live and survive like that
I don't think I would.

I don't care what role they play as long as they get to be an Aussie.

Anything is better than having American or English actors trying to do an Australian accent!

Just think of how Dick Van Dyke murdered his cockney accent in Mary Poppins.

That is ten times better than a Yank trying to be an Australian.

It's usually a recipe for disaster when an actor attempts an accent from another country!

I shouldn't have called him Dick Van Dyke.

With today's Political Correctness he is probably known as Penis Van Lesbian.

There are not many Black Country convicts.

About 50% of convicts were Irish.

About another 5 to 10% were Scottish or Welsh.

Of the English convicts fairly high percentage were from London/Middlesex/Kent.

Cockey had an influence but many of the words we use are Gaelic in origin and meaning.
