Completed ----The Brook - Smethwick

Post by Puddled »

I've got a birth certificate for somebody in my family tree who was born at The Brook, Smethwick in 1857. The Brook was also the residence of the informant on the birth certificate.

Does anybody know anything about this place :?: It means little to me. The two parents were resident at No.1 and 3, Brook Street at their time of marriage, and I don't know if that has any relevance.

The Brook Smethwick (or as we say Smerrick) was i think in the area of Thimblemill which is on the Bearwood / Warley Woods side of Smethwick.
I've got an old map upstairs i'll have a look and get back to you.
