I have progressed with the usual stumbling blocks and occasional brick walls with my family history, however I would be grateful if anyone had any additional information regarding the Fenton family who seen to have resided at different numbers at Overend Street, West Bromwich from at least the last quarter of the 18th century.
I have a number of marriage/ birth certificates which have helped confirm certain details but there are some anomalies. Any help would be truly appreciated
Secondly the Seymour branch of my family (my mother's side) is presenting several obstacles. My Grandfather (died 1944) has huge gaps in his history as it seems he spent some times in Barnardo's. His father I believe is William Arthur Seymour who may have been born in Newfoundland, Canada around 1864. I have posted details on a few Canadian genealogical forums but to no avail. Again, any help would be appreciated.
I have a number of CDs containing Parish Register information but cannot see as yet how these aid my research as they are just lists of names and therefore there is no reliable way in which I can connect the Fenton or indeed Seymour names with any of my family. Can someone tell me how Parish Register details can help and where I should go from here?

Hi Chavez and welcome to the forum
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Hi Chavez welcome to the forum. Regarding Parish Register's, they are only helpful when you know what you are looking for. I usually use the IGI firstly then look up the entries from there. You need to post what you have so far so everyone can see where you are at. Linell.

Thanks to everyone for their responses and my apologies for my slow reply but unfortunately my father died very recently and I am only now getting 'back to normal'. I will make some further posts available very soon
