I know I have asked this before but I am desperate to get some solid information on the marriage of Thomas Townsend b 1826 Oxford to Mary Stiggants b1837 Wickham. The spelling of Stiggants varies through the Census years and could be Stiggant, Stygant or even Siggens.
I have found both Thomas and Mary seperately in the 1861 Census and both are described as unmarried. They had three children Charles Townsend b1863, William Townsend 1865 and Henry Townsend 1866. Charles being born in Fareham and William & Henry in Portsmouth. I know that all three children were christened in August 1867.
I realise they may not have got married but I need to try every avenue. Can any shed on light on a possible marriage from 1871 onwards?
Thanks

Mary's parents are Richard and Ann?

No luck.
I have searched Non Conformist, Overseas, Military, Fleet Marriages.
I have used FIndMyPast, TheGenalogist, World Vital Records, FamilySearch BETA, Familysearch and Ancestry.
A Mary Ann Eliza Stigent married a David Robb on 14th Feb 1857 at Saint Marys in Portsea, Hampshire.
But you said you found her unmarried in 1861 so I don't think it is worth pursuing a Robb/Townsend marriage.
Mind you, I have had women resort to thier maiden name after divorce or being widowed.
The families I have seen with her parents do not have a marriage listed for her.
Were they alive in 1911?

Thomas died in 1895 and Mary died in 1896.
