Ducie and I are seeing whether we can help each other with our HARROLD lines. Anyone else who can give ideas or assistance, please join in.
The parents of my convict ancestor, Benjamin PERRY, born 1803, Rowley Regis, were William PERRY (Oct 1761, Rowley Regis), and Mary (Mary Ann?) HARROLD (abt 1764, Rowley Regis).
The IGI (extracted record) has:
WILLIAM PERRY
Marriages:
Spouse: MARY HARROLD
Marriage: 16 APR 1788 Rowley Regis, Stafford, England
On Free BMDs:
In the Rowley Regis Parish Register:
"05 Aug 1764 Mary, d. of John & Jane Harold bap."
I don't know for sure if this is my Mary. If it is, she has at least two siblings:
All born to John & Jane HARROLD at Rowley Regis -
Extracted from parish records:
MARY HAROLD - Christening: 05 AUG 1764 Rowley Regis, Stafford, England
SARAH HARROLD - Christening: 01 JAN 1769 Rowley Regis, Stafford, England
JOSEPH HARROLD - Christening: 11 JUL 1776 Rowley Regis, Stafford, England
I think there may have been these other children to John & Jane HARROLD:
John (1756 - 1761)
Samuel (1758 - 1792)
Hannah (1759) (married 1. Samuel BISSELL, 2. JOHN SMITH)
John (1762) (married Susannah LOWE)
Sarah (1769 - 1771)
The only marriages that I have been able to find for a John HARROLD to a Jane around the right time are:
IGI (submitted)
JOHN HAROLD
Marriages:
Spouse: JANE BICKNILL
Marriage: 01 OCT 1763 Stockton, Warwick, England
and
IGI (extracted)
JOHN HARROLD
Marriages:
Spouse: JANE TILT
Marriage: 22 FEB 1753 Edgbaston, Warwick, England

I think you can ignore the Stockton one since they seem to have had
John 1764
Thomas 1765
William 1770
All bpt Stockton, IGI extracted

Is this still a Brick Wall?
Or have you solved it?
Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to archived section
