There is consensus that her parents are Frances Mary Jones and John Bradford.

You can find Frances and John and children together in 1861 Aston Warwickshire, 1871 Harborne Worcestershire, 1881 Harborne Staffordshire, 1891 Harborne Staffordshire, 1901 Smethwick Worcestershire.

They were supposed to have been married on 25th December 1858 at All Saints Church in Sedgley. I have not seen the certificate.

The both died in 1907.

The problem is that there are many variations on who the parents of Frances Mary Jones and John Bradford are.

I haven't found conclusive proof for any of the published answers so am hoping you smart people can come up with a theory for each. I will not bias the results by mentioning any of the "theories".

Known siblings of Sarah Elizabeth Bradford are

John Thomas Bradford - 1864 Harborne

Miriam Annie Bradford - 1866 Harborne

Mary Hannah (Ann) Bradford - 1868 Harborne

Joseph Enos Bradford - 1871 Harborne

Albert Edward Bradford - 1872 Smethwick

Rachel Emma Bradford - 1873 Smethwick

Frances Mary Bradford - 1878 Smethwick

The 1861, 1871 and 1881 census have her living with a John and Frances. The 1881 census has James Homer in the same house as her and her family.

So I am positive her father is John Bradford and mother is Frances Mary Jones. She has a younger sister called Frances Mary and names one of her children Frances Mary Homer.

There are several competing families for John Bradford in the census.

Some of the possible families are non-conformist and I can find the possible siblings in the non-conformist records but not John so that is what makes be suspect they are not a fit.

A lot of the Bradford will put their place of birth as Daisy Bank rather than Sedgley. Daisy Bank is a hotbed for "New Methodists".

I have a feeling Frances Mary Jones was a bastard of Mary Jones. This would be confirmed by the marriage lookup I suppose.

That is most likely his family but John's Baptism as listed on I.G.I can't be found in the real register.

The mother is Sarah Stanley born Wolverhampton 1796. She can be found in the Non-Conformist records as part of the John Street Prebyterian congregation.

The father is John Bradford born 1796 in Sedgley. They married in 1823 in Sedgley.

They are the parents I think are correct and the marriage lookup might be the clincher since I can't find the baptism.

The 1851 census is easy to sort out once you map the family a bit.

Ann Clempson is John Bradford's sister. John Clempson is her husband.

Mary is another of John's sisters.

Hannah is another of John Bradford's sisters. She married William Pitt who carked it soon after the marriage.

John Pitt is her son.

Amos is actually Enos and one of John Bradford's brothers.

A couple of people on Genses Reunited and Ancestry have reported that they could not find him in the registry.

I have not had a look myself and since I don't know these people, perhaps they are mistaken?
