Is this the correct family??

1871 Derby St Aston Birmingham

LEE, Alfred Thomas Head M 26 1845 Leicestershire
LEE, Martha Wife F 23 1848 Warwickshire
LEE, Thomas William Son M 4 1867 Warwickshire
LEE, Agnes Daughter F 1 1870 Warwickshire

if so then is this the reason for the Lee / Wilson name changes

Marriages June 1867 Qtr from Free BMD

CHAMBERS Henry Birmingham 6d 206
COATES Jane Birmingham 6d 206
LEE Alfred Thomas Birmingham 6d 206 16th June St Philips Birmingham
Willson Martha Birmingham 6d 206

If my maths is right (and it's very early in the day) this Thomas would have had to be born before April 1867 to already be 4 - This is the only Thomas W Lee that fits the bill on Free BMD (I have used the Aston births as that is where the other Lees seem to have been born)

Births Sep 1866
Lee Thomas W Aston 6d 263

and Alfred and Martha were not married at this time.

There are a couple of Thomas W Wilsons borns in Aston in 1866 - Could Thomas have been born before Alfred and Martha married?

Thanks for looking at this cid
Yes I think you are right, you've bought me back to my original findings, I think I just needed to be reassured I was on the right track!

Can't find her in 1861 at the moment but will have a look at those births for Thomas William Wilson on Freebmd

Well I got my cerificates through

Birth Cert says: Registration District: Aston in the district of Deritend, County Warwickshire
Birth: 22nd Nov 1866
Thomas William - boy - Father: Blank - Mother: Martha Wilson of 13 Court, Great Barr Street, Aston

and

Marriage June 16 1867 at St Philip`s Church, Birmingham
Alfred Thomas Lee - Age 23 - Bach - Metal Roller-Fazeley Street
Father: John Lee - Warehouseman
Martha Willson - 20 - Spin - Fazeley Street
Father: Blank - Profession: Blank :o
Banns
Alfred signed
Martha made her mark
Wit: Mary Jones signed and George Wedge made his mark

So cid and MG, you were both right!

I can't believe there is no father named for Martha

Well that's one mystery solved, and another one started.......

The hunt is on for Martha's father

Unless of course her mother wasn't married either.

Why is nothing easy :?: :?:
