Which area where you live would you recommend for a visit?

Post by Northern Lass »

We all live in different areas countries
The post in Introductions made me wonder ....If I was visiting where you lived where should I go to take in the
sites, views, stately homes, meals etc.

I will start the ball rolling...

If you were ever visiting the Midlands and in particular Wolverhampton
there is a place called Wightwick Bank that is fabulous
and I have to say I haven't visited yet ..

also the Black Country Museum is brilliant for a day out.

The Thornescroft is a great restaurant.

what do you recommend in your neck of the woods.

I would recommend the Yorkshire Dales , there are some lovely walkes and places to visit.

If you like the Brontes there is the Red House Museum that used to be the house where the Brontes used to stay .

Anywhere in the Dandenongs. http://www.dandenongrangestourism.com.au/top1024x768.html

They are just up the road from my place in Boronia.

My other house is on Philip Island and there are plenty of places to visit there as well. http://www.visitphillipisland.com/

Philip Island is a good starting point for visiting that part of Gippsland. http://www.gippslandtourism.com.au/

My favorite holiday place is in the Tarra Valley. http://www.bestfriend.net.au/

I live in the middle of the Dandenongs - have done for most of my life, and I love the place, but I think if someone came to Victoria and could only visit one place, I'd say "Go to Wilson's Promontory!". Such a beautiful place with fantastic pristine beaches, grand rock formations, beautiful bush and wildlife galore.

The South Shropshire Hills are lovely for walking. More gentle is Wenlock Edge, and all the Ironbridge Gorge Museums are well worth a visit.
