I have this family from FMP in 1901, I think the surname Rock is incorrect, Marriage has surname Ruell. Also Maggie Higgs the Visitor, could someone please compare the transcription or look at the image please? Many thanks from Linell.

Never seen one like that before -- did he think there was no-one in and didn't leave space or maybe they arrive back after he had moved on -- there does look as though there is a very slight smudge in the "not occupied" box!

Yes I did see the image on FMP but couldn't read it, as you say they were all squashed in one box. I suppose the whole family have been living in one room maybe Or the enumerator missed all the family off and then squeezed them in later. If I could decipher the surname Rock/Ruck I could look for them in 1911. Was the Visitor enumerated as Maggie Higgs on Ancestry Many thanks from Linell.

Thanks for that Maths Girl, I was just going to have a search of the 1911, that is definitely them, at least Beatrice was not a common name. So the surname is Ruck then. Will add that to my FTM. I hate not having proper names or addresses for my Ancestors, have to keep digging until I find out what it should be. I'll double check on Free BMD for the children's births.
