Anybody with knowledge on painters/artists/sculptors?

Post by Suzanne44 »

Hi

A long shot, but worth trying. My Great Grandfather was a painter/ sculptor and his eldest son who died aged 29 were both supposed to be 'known' artists . Obviously they were artists as we have paintings in the house, but I cannot find a single thing about anything other than what the family has hanging up.

John Hassall Preston
Reginald Grosvenor Preston (Haywood)

From what I gather it was mainly landscape.

I have all their birth/death/census details etc, so don't need any help with that, but if anyone has an interest in art and can throw any clues if they actually had any paintings other than whats owned by the family, I'd be very interested to know.

Regards

Suzanne

Perhaps an enquiry to the British Museum and Library?
