Do you think aliens landed on earth?

Do you think that Marilyn Monroe was murdered?

What about Princess Di ..what happened there?

Do you think Rob dyes his hair?

oops sorry that last one is just doing the rounds on a blog

:o

I do not think we landed on the moon ....

What do you think

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Why should I tell you, you are probably working for the government!

Of course we landed on the moon!

Do you watch the show "Mythbusters"?

They showed that every single thing the consipiracy theorists put forward about shadows and moving flags etc is easily proven to be exactly what you expect on the moon.

The "wind blowing the flag" one for instance. They placed an exact replica of one of the flags in a vacumn chamber and guess what? It moved around exactly as the ones on the moon. No wind, just the physics of the very stiff pole used to extend the flag expanding and contracting with heat.

They simulated 1/6th gravity and wore a genuine moon suit and they walked and moved exactly as shown on the films.

They showed, via exact scale models, that the shadows and lighting are exactly as you would expect on the moon.

Think about it. If they were going to set up a studio and simulate a moon landing, don't you think they would have made sure the doors were closed (to stop the wind blowing the flags) and got lighting correct?

As for Lady Di. She got into a car with a drunk driver who went too fast and crashed. Nothing mysterious about that one..

Marilyn Munroe may have been silenced. A possibility but hard to prove.

Aliens landing on Earth? They may not be intelligent aliens but microbes. The common cold is thought to have originated elsewhere. Large sentient beings like ourselves...we can't think of any physics that would allow visitors from even our closest star, Alpha Centuri. So I doubt it.

But there are bilions of planets that can sustain life so there must be billions of life forms in the universe. Eventually we will find radio signals from other life but communications back and forth will be impossible unless we master "bound particles" which is a wonderfull part of Quantum Physics.

I am a complete and utter nerd who reads physics books and did Pure and Applied Mathtematics for the fun of it. I have over 500 science fiction movies in my collection and get involved in many "debate" with conspiracy theorists who ignore the scientific proof of things.

Watched mythbusters last night, they totally destroyed a crash dummy dropping it from a great height into water. trying to prove / disprove the theory that if you dropped something into the water before you fell in it would somehow save you......it didn't save the dummy....................

Have you any theories on how they built the pyramids Mark?? I'm fascinated by them.

The sensistivity of the cameras used on the moon were not enough to pick up the starlight which was effectively drowned out by the brightness of the Earth.

Have you ever noticed you can see less stars near the full moon than near a new moon?

Light being reflected off the moons surface also masked a lot of stars. Similar to you seeing less stars from the middle of a city than in the countryside.

You can't compare the cameras used in 1969 to those of today.

The rubbish about the reflectivity of the moon not being enough just makes me laugh, especially when he complains about the gold cladding being in such detail and not in shadow. Mythbusters, and others, have proved that the reflection from the moons surface, even at 7%, is enough to light up articles that would otherwise be in shadow from the sun. This is tested and proved beyond doubt so this bloke looses all credability going on about it.

The letter C? Umm...I am sure I could probably find all the letters of the alphabet if I wished. He is going on about shadows all the time....looks like he ignored the fact they are shadows this time.

HIs rubbish about the earth being stuck to the window? Hello, they are triple glazed windows several inches thick! Anybody with any knowledge of physics would know that such glass would suffer from refraction. Similar to a straw appearing bent in a glass of water. This refraction can make real objects appear to be on the surface of the glass. Magicians use this effect quite well when doing stage illusions. As a matter of act, all of the screens used in the control room use this exact principle. They were not like modern CRT monitors that started appearing in the 1980's. They were flat pieces of glass that had very large displays reflected onto their surface. When viewing footage of the control room, you would swear the picture and text are on the surface of the screens.

As for shadows being different lengths. Once again proven by Mythbusters and others to be perfectly reproducable on flat surfaces on Earth.

The missing crosshairs? Every example shows the crosshairs vanishing when there is a huge change in contrast between one object and another. Perfectly understandable and not unusual.

Being able to survive the tempreature changes? Umm......there weren't any. From pole to pole there are changes in the temp. Not from shadow to sunlight in a few feet.

Some scientists believed that if we ever travelled faster than 30MPH without protection our skin would get ripped off via friction. We know that is wrong and they knew it before anybody exceeded 30MPH. Nobody still quotes that as gospel.

In the early 1960's, when calculating our chance of getting to the moon and back, they based their conclusions on wrong assumptions that were proven scientifically incorrect soon after. So quoting the early estimates as gospel is total stupidity.

How come the Soviets never claimed the moon landings to be false? Surely these are the people the USA were trying to lie to. With their expertise and after viewing the same pictures and films as everybody else, why did we never hear a word from them denouncing the thing as fraud?

Are the worlds best scientists stupid enough to make the mistakes with the lighting and props and shadows as claimed? Wouldn't the worlds biggest cover up have a paranoid level of quality control? Wouldn't the scientific advisors pick up on these errors well before the public?

There are peole who deny the holocaust happened. There are others who claim that 9/11 was staged. Like these people, proof means nothing to a dedicated moon landing sceptic.
