I am looking for a Robert Allen , he wed in 1836 to an Alice simpson in stockton on tees.Im guessing he was born c 1800's.
Robert was a batchalor at time of marriage on the marriage entry it had "Of this parish" . He must have died c 1836 as Alice remarried in 1841.
I have been looking for the birth of This robert but to little avail , the marriage does not reveal any clues.
*ARC 24 Hrs* - Allen born c1800's Stockton Durham.

I looked at the Durham Bishops Transcripts, you can search them here,
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/rec ... ctions;r=1
I also looked 1817 and 1816 Christenings but didnt see anything. It would be worth looking in there.
Theres a posible burial in 1838?
Burials in the Parish of Stockton On Tees.
Robert Allen, Stockton, July 22nd 1838, 27 years,
Do you have census of Alice?

Re: Allen born c1800's Stockton Durham.
Hi,
Alice is on the 1841 census as being born c 1815.On later census it has Yorkshire northallerton & east cowton. She was a Widow when married .I obtained her marriage certificate to Francis Hunter it has her father as James Simpson and her as a widow of full age when married.
On the 1841 cenus she is Alice Hunter age 25 and has a "son in law ?" Robert Allen age 5 she is living in stockton Durham at the time .
Im presuming Robert ( jr) is down as son in law due to her remarriage to Francis?. This child is Robert Allen / alice simpsons.
He can be found in later census . Problem is I have not been able to find Robert Allen the husband of Alice Simpsons birth anywhere .
The death looks to be him (age 27) putting his birth c 1811.
The only info i have on robert the father is "of this parish" at the time of marriage to Alice but it does not mean he was born there.

Alices marriage to Robert Allen 4th November 1836 ;
ROBERT ALLEN OF THIS PARISH WED ALICE SIMPSON OF DENTON CHAIRE NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE .IN PRECENCE OF ROBERT VIRTLEY AND FS DENNISON .
I checked IGI for Robert Virtley but came up with nothing .I checked Denton Chaire parishes ( Newcastle St Nicholas ) for Robert Allen also Alice Simpson - Nothing ( Census states Alice from Yorkshire ).
Cant seem to locate a birth like i said for Robert c 1811.
