I have a Josiah Dimmock born in Mushroom Green who is connected to my Wood family of Alveley. Is there a connection with the Dimmocks we have, I wonder?

In 1841 census "nailor" living in Heath Lane, Old Swinford, aged 25, next door to another family of Smiths, the eldest being Ellen Smith aged 30. Perhaps taken into custody and given 4 month sentence in the Black Country nailor's riots of 1842. In 1844 marriage certificate "forgeman". In the 1881 census Job was living with his family at "Back Church Tavern, Kingswinford, Stafford", occupation: "labourer in ironworks". Also listed, with wife Letitia and two sons, Samuel and Edwin, both born in Rowley Regis (near Oldbury) is granddaughter "Florence Dimmock" of "Quarry Bank, Stafford" (near Rowley Regis), aged 13.

Josiah's parents Thomas & Elizabeth and his siblings Emma & Ann are living in Mushroom Green in 1841 with John & Nancy Dimmock but as I mentioned in another topic proving a relationship between Thomas and John will require searching parish records that aren't on line.

he has the name as Wild but on first marriage on IGI it is While
