ridiculous isn't it
the run ins I have had from with the Council!!
When I first moved down here they would only take what was in the bin!!
so ok got used to that no extra bags

but come on!
surely they can get a bin lorry down
how do all these countries cope with snow all the time!!

coz kate how is it in Iceland?

apparently I am not alone in the mids!
rubbish is piling up!!

My line dropped, so if this is a repeat, apologies!

Our black bin was emptied yesterday, the first time since well before Christmas.

According to the Council the snow was too bad so they couldn't get round!
We now have our recycling bin sitting outside together with two black boxes,
which they assure us will be collected 'sometime'.

The paper guy who drives from Salisbury each day managed to deliver before
7am each day. Post and all the other services got through!

Ours got emptied. Much later in the day as normally but they got here.
My youngest still did her papers, although she did pull them on her sledge! The trolly wouldnt go through the snow and because its a Sunday round they are so heavy to carry! One person even said good afternoon to her! :o Poor babe!

Ours gets emptied what ever the weather I think. First time after Christmas was on Sunday 27th which I thought was a bit too keen cos I hadn't even put the wrapping paper in by then!

Usually you can chuck your Christmas tree out between the 6th and the 12th of Jan and the council will collect. But this year they axed that to save money and you either had to take it yourself/pay a private company to fetch it/pay the forestry comission to fetch it - money used to plant a new tree. quite like the last idea but didn't know about it until after I had made my husband take it to the dump.

Surely your snow is gone by now NL? We had pouring rain this morning, no snow here :(
